Asset Class
An asset class is a group of investments that behave in broadly similar ways and share similar characteristics, such as stocks, bonds, cash, and commodities. Within a class, holdings tend to move together more than they move with other classes. Spreading money across several asset classes is a common way to build a more balanced portfolio.
