Leading Indicator
A leading indicator is one that tries to signal a possible change before it shows up clearly in price, often by measuring momentum or how stretched a move is. Oscillators like RSI are usually described as leading. The tradeoff is that they give more false signals, because reacting early also means reacting to noise.
